In this interview, Chum Chamm talks about the challenges facing informal workers in Cambodia, including the problem of police harassment. He also points to the ways in which IDEA members are facing up to these challenges through collective organisation and negotiation with authorities.
IDEA is a union of informal workers which has a membership of around 10,000. The majority of members are tuk-tuk drivers, but the union also includes street vendors and domestic workers.
The interview was filmed on 4th August 2015 during an exchange visit between members of NCTU from the Philippines, and IDEA.
